SMART 2021 Goal Week 6: One more skill is gained!

Learning new things help me stay sane during these troubaling times.

I finally finished the R Programming course I bought from Udemy! It took me 3 weeks to finish the 10.5 hours long course, watching it on x1.5 speed. I really liked the course itself, the exercises were so much fun to go through and they gave me a lot of opportunities to apply and play around with the information I learned.

I think analysing data is one thing but being able to communicate with that data is a whole other skill. I think learning how to create good visuals and how to do basic analysis gives me an opportunity to be more intentional about what I’m telling with the data.

The next one is the Deep Learning series (only 4 videos, but a series) from 3Blue1Brown. It breaks down the concept of Neural Network and explains the math behind it very nicely. I think it gives such an understandable, simple explanation.

Reflection on this week

I realize that my motivation fluctuates a lot from day to day. I find it easier to cope with it when I have a clear idea of what I’m going to do for the day. I still have problems with waking up at a certain time but I know I can get over that as well.

For my SMART 2021 goal, I truly feel like it has become a part of my life at this stage. Some weeks I can allocate more time than the others but the important thing is that I show up and trying to improve day by day.

What I’m planning to do next week?

I actually want to take it slow these days and want to focus on developing my Phyton skills this week.

Aside from that, I’d like to make more research on the specific topics I’d like to write about -such as AI and sustainability.

Stay safe everyone!
